Cookie Policy

1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can recognise you on later visits and remember your preferences. The term "cookie" in this policy also includes similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits where they perform the same function.
2. Why Sky Bites uses cookies
We use cookies for a small number of clearly defined purposes:
- Keep the site working — for example, remembering whether you accepted cookies, keeping your client-portal session secure.
- Remember preferences — like the time zone or currency you've chosen.
- Understand usage — aggregate, anonymised statistics about which pages clients visit, which FBO coverage queries are most common, and where to invest in service expansion.
We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not "sell" cookie data. We do not let third parties use Sky Bites data for their own marketing.
3. Cookies we set
| Cookie / key | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb_cookie_choice (local storage) |
Remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies so we don't show the banner again. | Strictly necessary | Persistent until cleared |
sb_session |
Keeps you signed in to the client portal and protects against cross-site request forgery. | Strictly necessary | Session |
sb_pref_* |
Remembers preferences such as language, currency, and time zone. | Functional | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics. Set only if you accept analytics cookies. | Analytics | 13 months |
vercel-* |
Set by our hosting provider Vercel for performance and security (e.g., load balancing, bot detection). | Strictly necessary | Session or up to 12 months |
Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless of your choice because the site or portal cannot function without them. Everything else is set only if you accept non-essential cookies.
4. Third-party services
Sky Bites runs on infrastructure operated by Vercel Inc. (hosting) and uses Google Fonts (web fonts). Both services may set or read limited cookies for performance, security, and font delivery. They are bound to confidentiality and security obligations.
We do not embed third-party tracking pixels (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn Insights, etc.) on our marketing site.
5. How we get consent
The first time you visit, we display a cookie banner that asks you to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is recorded locally so the banner doesn't reappear unnecessarily. You can change your decision at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site and refreshing the page.
6. How to control or delete cookies
You can also control cookies through your browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
- Mobile (iOS / Android): system Settings under Safari / Chrome / your default browser.
Blocking all cookies will break parts of the client portal that depend on session cookies (you won't be able to stay signed in).
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Sky Bites honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where transmitted: when GPC is detected we treat the request as a refusal of non-essential cookies. We do not currently respond to the legacy "Do Not Track" header because there is no industry-standard interpretation, but the GPC signal supersedes it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the cookie banner and the homepage footer.
